Menu System for  Unity 2020 (For Game  Jams)

Features:

  • Main Menu
    • Load Screen on Scene Load (beta)
  • In Game Pause Menu
    • Pauses game + Effects, but  music and UI audio  still play
  • Tabbed Settings Menu
    • With
      • Resolution
      • Window Mode
      • Target Display on Startup (Requires restarting game)
      • UI, Effects, Music, and Master volume
    • Settings are saved to disk, and remembered on startup
  • Config file for API keys and credentials


WIP Features:

  1. Leader Board that connects to basic  server tab (50% Done)
  2. HUD UI (15% Done) 
    1. Editable HUD with some basic controls
      1. Bar  sliders
      2. Numbers
      3. Labels
  3. Controls Popup, connected to Key Bindings (10% Done)
  4. Settings menu for Control binding
  5. Load / Save Game Menu with basic implementation
  6. High Scores screen tab
  7. Fonts are decent, but don't quite jive with each other, find something better
  8. Make sure all assets are open source / usable / freeware licensed
  9. "Just  Works" with a game scene
    1. Easy to set up, integrate, and not worry about UI






Feature Creep Ideas:

  • Make menu look a lot nicer
  • Use custom shaders for some  effects
  • Local and Split screen support
  • Multiplayer Lobby
  • Customize menu, and HUD, with some icons, color, theme
    • Randomize and generate a theme
  • Maybe some gameplay related Menu features like
    • Basic item grid system - 1 item = 1 grid
    • Item Grid System
    • Compass types
    • Tagged object on screen
    • HP number text
    • Mini Map
